NEXT ELEPHANT NEED PROSTHETIC LEG – AT KUALA GANDAH ELEPHANT SANCTUARY, PAHANG

On Oct 4, 2019. BioApps came to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, Pahang again to see the condition of an amputee elephant. The 16-year-old elephant, Selendang, lost its foot after being trapped in an illegal hunting activity at FELDA Scarf 3, Rompin about 11 years ago. Pengarah Bahagian Penguatkuasa Jabatan Perlindungan Hidupan Liar dan Taman Negara (PERHILITAN) Hasnan Yusop said, Selendang was taken to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary (KGES) in 2007 when she was two years old after her left leg was cut off due to stray wire snares. We discussed with Dr. Firdaus from Kuala Gandah and he agreed to use our services for Selendang’s next prosthesis.
